Today, my little guy turns 7!  It is so hard to believe that this time has flown by so fast!  Happy Birthday Cory (aka the “Tank!”)

This weekend started out with a bang because Fall Ball is right around the corner. {super excited }  Caleb and Cory absolutely love to play baseball.  This season is going to be so much more fun because Cory had his first tryouts and has officially moved up to coach pitch!  Caleb is in kid pitch and has already taken a ball to the ribs from last season.  He got back up and played the game because he didn’t want to quit.  It was super hot on Saturday, but the boys pulled through and gave it all they had to show the coaches that they were right for their team.  This week, the coaches are getting together to do a draft and I can’t wait to see who are coaches will be this year.  In the next couple weeks, its going to be all about “play ball” and “swing batter, batter swing!” {woohoo}

After baseball tryouts on Saturday, we made a very spontaneous trip to Lake Somerville.  We went to Overlook Marina and paid for a day pass.  So inexpensive for a day rate.  It only cost our family of four $8 for a fun filled day of water, stars, and sun sets!  Both Caleb and Cory are big science gurus.  If it is science related, they are all about it.  So, we stayed until around 9:15 so they could look at all the stars in the sky overhead. Caleb even found the Milky Way (at least that what he said it was).  I am not into science like them, but it was really neat to lay on the tool box of my husband’s truck and just stare up at the stars with them.  We all had a really awesome time just hanging out and enjoying the peace & quiet!

Now, on to Sunday!  The day that has me recuperating today! Does this face really look like a child sitting in the emergency room with a head injury?  Well, it is!  We spent about 3 1/2 hours yesterday late afternoon at the emergency room getting my little Cory checked out.  He and Caleb thought it was all fun and games to play dare devil tricks on their bikes yesterday.  Let me just tell you all, the bike won!  Caleb was on the seat & Cory was riding on the pegs facing Caleb and they thought it would be cool to let Cory drive without looking.  That didn’t work out so well.  In the end, Cory smashed down on his back hitting head and giving himself a pretty good case of road rash and lets not mention the glasses that went flying off his face 6 feet away.  Caleb got handle bars to his ribs and under his arm.  Needless to say, 2 boys on 1 bike = trip to emergency room.  Some days these 2 just give me a heart attack and I think they like to do it!  I love my boys, but I wish they would just wear their helmets when they are going to play Evil Kenevil.
